    May 02, 2017

Minister of Education Akila Wiraj Kariyawasam has taken steps to make the service of 1,660 labourers of Central Cutural Fund permanent.

Most of them have been recruited to the service through a ManPower company during the previous regime. Minister Kariyawasam considering the complaints received saying that this company has taken Rs 500 from the salary of each  labourer instructed the Central Cultural Fund not to have any dealings with that company.

As well, the minister had instructed the official to take steps to re-recruite the labourers who have the required qualifications and to make them permanent. Accordingly, the labourers who have the required qualifications will be made permanent from May.
