The opening ceremony of ‘Yovunpuraya-2017’, the youth camp organized by the Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs in collaboration with the National Youth Services Council was held at the Mechaizer outdoor stadium in Trincomalee yesterday (29th March).
Opposition Leader R. Sampanthan, State Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs Niroshan Perera, National Youth Services Council Director General Erandika Weliange, Governor of Eastern Province, and the Chief Minister of Easter Province participated on this occasion.
About 6,000 young people representing island-wide youth clubs, other youth organizations, school prefects, and foreign countries are participating at this youth camp being held for 5 days until 02nd April.
