The first and the second phase of the ‘Nila Mehewara’ initiative were held in Polonnaruwa and Galle Districts respectively.

‘Nila Mehewara’ is a program organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the orders of President Maithripala Sirisena with the consultation of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.

People of these districts will be able to obtain the services provided by the government bodies of the area free of charge. Assistance will also be received from the private sector.

A special discussion regarding the next program to be held covering five districts was held recently at Temple Trees under the patronage of the Minister of Home Affairs Wajira Abeywardhane.
