He stated this addressing the opening ceremony of the Beruwala-Kalawilakanda new bridge constructed at a cost of Rs. 40 million.
The minister said that he had a discussion with Prime Minister yesterday (12th Feb.) evening prior to the prime minister’s Australian visit that begins today.
“There, we discussed about protecting the good governance government formed by the two major political parties of the country. We changed the previous system. Therefore, the people expect a discipline within this government and the ministers should be made aware about that”, he said.
“We cannot allow them to commit crimes, violence, or illegal things. Neither the President nor Prime Minister is using power for those things. They use power only for public service. But, some are trying to use the given freedom improperly and to create a clash when an innocent leader is ruling the country.”
He further added that under the present government provisions have been allocated to build 4,000 bridges.
