He made these comments at a function held at the commencement of the Archives week this year from November 7-13. The theme of the Archives Week this year is “National Archives and Local Government Records”. The Archives Week will be celebrated by holding a seminar on the above theme for public and issuing a poster on the above theme.

The gold award for the best Local Governments record room was won by Kurunegala Municipal Council while the silver was won by Hambantota and the bronze by Bandarawela.
