Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippili said that a dry climatic condition is being experienced in several Districts at present. He pointed out that as a result families of several areas particularly in the districts of Trincomalee, Batticaloa and Ampara in the Eastern Province, the Polonnaruwa District and Jaffna, Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu Districts in the Northern Province are experiencing a shortage of drinking water.

He said that District Disaster Management Units have taken necessary measures to solve the drinking water problem of these families with water bowsers in collaboration with the National Water Supply Board.
