The Police successfully conducted raids on ten illegal sand mining locations.in Galle.
Illegal sand mining has been taking place at these ten sites in the Amugoda area at Wakwella in Galle, flouting regulations related to permits.
The raid was jointly carried out by the Galle and Poddala Police. 25 Police Officers were involved in the raid.
10 ferries used for sand mining were seized.
