Winds will be Southwesterly and speed will be 20-40 kmph.
Gulf of Mannar and Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota sea areas will be fairly rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times, the Met Dept. forecasts.

Showers will occur at times in the sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle. Showers or thundershowers may develop at several places in the sea areas around the island after 2 pm.
