Showers will occur at few places in the sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Galle via Colombo. Isolated showers or thundershowers can be expected in the other sea areas during the afternoon or evening, the Met Dept. says.
Winds will be South-westerly and speed will be 20-40 kmph. Wind speed can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times.
The sea area extending from Puttalam to Kankesanthurai and the sea area extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 60 kmph at times. The other sea areas around the island will be fairly rough at times.
