The sea area extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankesanthurai and the sea area extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 60 kmph at times. The other sea areasaround the island will be fairly rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times, says the Met Dept. in its 12noon weather forecast.
Several spells of showers will occur in the sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle. Showers or thundershowers can be expected at few places in the other sea areas during the afternoon or evening.
Winds will be South-westerly and speed will be 30-40 kmph.
