Sri Lanka and China are bound by the historical silk read in the past. At present the both countries are mutually assisting for the national independence and development of their countries, he added.
The Marine Silk Road of the 21st century concept presented by China can be considered as a path to promote trade, economic, and cultural ties among the relevant countries. Sri Lanka is willing to continue the relation with China making use of the opportunities it offered. He further said that investments of China play a major role in the postwar developments of the country. The Speaker further added that the bilateral friendship of the two countries have uplifted to a new level after the Sri Lankan official visit of the Chinese President Xi Jinpin in last September.
