Minister Lakshman Kiriella said that the Cabinet Paper proposing to increase the salary of Police Officers by 40 percent will be submitted to the Cabinet soon. The Minister mentioned this while attending the function to distribute motorcycles to Police Officers in the Kandy Division.
Minister Lakshman Kiriella said that the Government would improve the Police Department in the future. A report has been submitted to the Treasury to increase the salaries of the Police officers by 40 percent.
He further said that when it comes to the Cabinet he will give his fullest support. 1,555 Police Officers in the Kandy Police Division were given motorcycles.
The ceremony took place at the Kandy Police Grounds. DIG Gamini Dissanayake was present at the ceremony.
