A National Mosquito Control Week will be launched in Sri Lanka from June 4 to 6 in 10 selected districts.
The objective of launching this one week’s programme is to reduce dengue mosquito breeding areas as dengue is rapidly spreading in Sri Lanka.
The programme will cover Colombo, Kalutara, Gampaha, Kandy, Kurunegala, Puttalam, Jaffna, Trincomalee, Batticaloa and Ratnapura districts.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
News.lk publishes in three languages – Sinhala, Tamil and English.
