The University of Mumbai had organised week-long exhibitions of paintings, photography and sculpture depicting Jataka stories and events in the life of Lord Buddha.
The Consul General Saroja Sirisena addressing the gathering of Buddhists highlighted that Buddhism was the foundation on which Indo-Lanka relations were fostered. It was also emphasised Sri Lanka took pride in nurturing the gift of Buddhism brought by Arahat Mahinda and was honoured to share it again with India and the rest of the world.
