    CAA to carry out raids during Poson for substandard goods Featured

    Poson is round the corner and vendors will attempt to deceive the public by selling substandard goods, said the Chairman of the Consumer Affairs Authority Rumi Marzook and called for public support in averting such atttempts.

    Chairman Rumi Marzook said steps will be taken to inspect the quality and ingredients of toothpaste that is sold in the market following a number of complaints lodged by consumers.

     

    Around 15 brands of toothpaste is sold in the market. The Authority said the assistance of the Sri Lanka Standard Institute will be sought while the fluoride level and other ingredients will also be inspected.

     

    The Chairman said that the public will also be educated on the matter.
