Showers will occur at several places in the Western, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts. Thundershowers will develop at several places elsewhere during the afternoon or night, forecasts the Met Dept.
Fairly strong winds can be expected over the country (hilly areas) and surrounding sea area.
The Met Dept. says that there may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
