Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea area extending from Kankesanthurai to Hambanthota via Colombo and Galle. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the other sea areas around the island during the afternoon and night, the Met Dept. forecasts.
Winds will be South-westerly and speed will be 20-40 kmph. However, there can be temporarily localized strong winds during thundershowers.
The sea area extending from Puttalam to Kankesanthurai via Mannar and Trincomalee to Hambantota via Pottuvil will be rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times. Other sea area around the island will not be rough, but can become temporarily rough during thundershowers
