The Sathyagraha campaign launched by Leader of National Movement for a Just Society Venerable Maduluwawe Sobitha thera, calling for the immediate passing of the 19th Amendment, has been called off.
Convenor of the National Movement for a Just Society, Saman Ratnapriya said Venerable Sobitha Thera called off the protest following a written promise by President Maithripala Sirisena.
Heavy traffic was reported on Cotta Road and roads leading to Rajagiriya due to the protest. with the road being cordoned off by Police.
