The Met Dept. said that on the apparent northward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 05 and 15 April 2015. The nearest towns of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today (06), are Kosgoda, Lunugamwehera, Thawalama and Embilipitiya around 12:13 noon, the Met Dept. further states.

The possibility for thundershowers is low today, but it will increase by tomorrow. Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the Sabaragamuwa province and in the Galle and Kaluthara districts during the afternoon or evening.
