Accordingly, 50, 000 families will be given loan facilities under this programme. Each family will be given 100 thousand rupees monthly and this loan should be repaid within 10 years. The selected beneficiaries will be given Rs. 20, 000 as first installment and Rs. 30, 000 as the 2nd installment during coming 10 days. The final installment will be paid in July.

Minister of Housing and Samurdhi, Sajith Premadasa expects to complete the construction of all houses on October that world habitat day falls.

The NHDA will provide Rs. 75, 000 for each 5000 low income families under the project to provide assistance in building houses.
