The Independent Television Network (ITN) organized a day long special programme to mark the International Women’s Day on Sunday (08).
A Special programme titled "Liya Waruna"organized by the ITN was held at the National Youth Centre in Maharagama throughout Sunday. The inaugural ceremony was held with the participation of Minister of Mass Media and Parliamentary Affairs Gayantha Karunatilleke and Minister of Children's Affairs Ms.Rosy Senanayake.
Various programmes presented by beauty therapists, chefs and handicraft artistes were part of the programme.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
