British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka,John Rankin yesterday welcomed the remarkable growth of 36% in Sri Lanka's exports to the UK in 2014 over the previous year.
Sri Lankan exports to the UK in 2014 stood at £1.158 billion, confirming that UK as Sri Lanka's top export destination in Europe.
Apparel and clothing accessories exports amounted to £865 million in 2014, a growth of 34%, while comprising 74% of total exports.
High Commissioner Rankin welcomed this growth and noted the continuing strong opportunities for British companies in the Sri Lankan market.
