    CSE to commence Central Counterparty Clearing System

    The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) is to commence Central Counterparty Clearing (CCP) system.The CCP is a fund which would safeguard both parties in a CSE transaction.The CSE has already signed contracts in this regard, the CSE revealed.

    According to the sources, the CSE is closely working with stockbrokers to begin risk management and back office systems. Capital market like many sector in the country was neglected in the last couple of years due to uncertain situation prevailed in the country. Nevertheless, various plans were put in place by the CSE in personnel and institutional building, IT and Risk Management to promote capital market not only to Sri Lankans but also to foreign investors.

     

    The CSE maintains a close relationship with the Malaysian capital market and look forward to do more with them particularly in technology transfer and training.
