    UDA new Chairman, DG assume office

    Ranjith Fernado and Nayana Mawilmada assumed office as the new Chairman and the Director General  of the Urban Development Authority (UDA).  They were appointed to the posts by Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage Minister Rauff Hakeem.

    Assuming duties they said it is their intention to focus on the core objectives of the UDA and intensify the organisation's efforts in creating the basic infrastructural facilities necessary for the generation and speedy implementation of developmental projects.

     

    Mawilmada an urban development specialist has experience in planning, facilitating, and managing large scale urban development, real estate and infrastructure projects across 15 countries.

     

    Fernando, a banker  also served as the former Secretary of the Industries and Constitutional Affairs Ministry,  a director and CEO of the National Development Bank and a Director of several public and private companies.
