The Finance and Planning Ministry has released necessary funds to relevant state institutions for allowance payments to parents of military and police personnel, July '83 strikers, differently abled persons, as well as for pension payments, the Ministry announced.
The Ministry stated that it had decided to release the funds to avoid delays which may occur due to upcoming public holidays and involvement of government officials in election duties.
Those entitled, will be able to receive their payments including the increases proposed in the 2015 budget. The payments can be received immediately, the Ministry added.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
