    Seventh Buddhist Summit to be held in Sri Lanka

    The Sixth Buddhist Summit International  Bodhi  Day was held in Japan from  8th to 11th December 2014 at Kobe city, with the participation of the supreme Buddhist leaders of 41 countries in the world,

    Dignitaries from the United Nations, the Royal Families, Heads of State, and Ambassadors Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of 22 countries to Japan. The supreme Buddhist leaders in the world assembled to discuss consolidating true peace and serenity through Buddhism in the world. The summit was held at the Royal Grand Hall of Buddhism, the Head Temple of Nenbutsushu Buddhist Sect of Japan under the leadership of Most Ven. Dr. Kyuse Enshinjoh, President of Buddhist Summit and Founder Priest of Nenbusushu Buddhist Sect.

     

    Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa addressed the summit and declared, on behalf of President Mahinda Rajapaksa, to the world that the Seventh Buddhist Summit would be held in Sri Lanka under the auspices of the Sri Lankan Government. The participants at the summit welcomed and appreciated the gesture of benevolence of  President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa. (KH)
