Sathosa Mobile vehicles have recorded a sales income of Rs.18 million within the first three days. The program commenced on Saturday and the number of lorries deployed for this program would be increased in the future, the Ministry of Internal Trade and Cooperatives revealed.
The first phase of the program to distribute essential items at subsidized prices from Sathosa mobile vehicles has been initiated successfully on the directions of President Mahinda Rajapaksa,
The people have been able to buy over 60 essential items from these lorries coming to their village at the same subsidised prices at the Lanka Sathosa outlets. These items include rice, green gram, dhal, big onions, red onion, black grams, garlic, chillies, milk powder, sugar, eggs, dried fish, canned fish, wheat flour etc.(ST/KH)
