The Rehabilitation of Buddhist Temples Foundation has selected eight rural temples for its inaugural fund donation program which will be held on November 29 at the temple premises under the 'Pansala Hadamu' (Let us build temples) initiative. The initiative is to provide monetary assistance through the Foundation. The temples will receive an initial payment of Rs 200,000 each.
This is the result of a project the foundation commenced six years ago where shortages in remote temples were identified..
The Foundation was set up under a Parliament Act with state patronage which empowers the Foundation to collect funds from Buddhist philanthropists.
