Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa, Chairperson, Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development paid homage to the Omniscient Sacred Relics placed at the Sandhahiru Stupa premises during her visit to the sacred city of Anuradhapura yesterday (18th Nov).
A week long Pirith Chanting ceremony is in progress till 21st November at the venue to invoke blessings for the depositing of Omnificent Sacred Relics in the Dome of the Stupa.
An 'International Conference on Buddhism' would be followed to educate the devotees at the Bhikshu University in Anuradhapura on 22nd November.
The depositing of Omniscient Sacred Relics at the hemispherical dome of the Stupa would be held on 23rd November under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.(MoD/KH)
