    Govt. expedite action on District Migrants Resource Centre in Haliela, Badulla

    The Government has taken steps to speed up the construction work of the District Migrants Resource Centre of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) in Haliela, Badulla, which will provide various services under one roof to migrant workers. the construction work to  be completed within 18 months.
     
    The proposed six storey building will consist of state-of-the-art facilities and will benefit migrant workers and foreign job aspirants from Badulla, Nuwaraeliya and Moneragala districts.
     
    The SLBFE will provide residential training facilities to migrant worker aspirants at the building in addition to other services.
     
    Since 2010 under the Mahinda Chinthana vision for the development of the sector, the setting up of migrant resource centres at regional level started, especially with the intention of providing skills oriented training to migrant worker aspirants.
     
    The SLBFE has seven regional centres and 25 district and other training centres. These centres provide various services to persons to go abroad for employment.
    The main aim of establishing Migrant Resource Centres are to provide better training facilities to migrant workers.(ST/KH)
