His initiation into films was in Lester James Peries’s “Rekawa” , after which he acted in 111 films, two stage plays and one tele drama. He was also very talented film director and lyric writer. In the political field he was a member of parliament, Deputy Speaker and also Governor of the North and East.

The Anniversary celebrations were organized by the GaminiFonseka foundation. A book of poetry composed by him, “Gamini Gee Mini “and another book on his acting career titled “Pragdhanaya” were also presented at this meeting. (NJ/SDF)
