    Mihin Lanka expands flight operations via Mattala

    Mihin Lanka has now increased the number of flights operating via Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA).

    The three destinations that Mihin Lanka operates flights to in the Indian subcontinent via MRIA include Madurai, Gaya andVaranasi. The airline also operates seasonal flights to Medan in Indonesia via MRIA.

     

    As Sri Lanka's only low-cost airline, Mihin Lanka strives to promote MRIA, an international aviation hub created by His Excellency President Mahinda Rajapaksa to spearhead the development of the country. The state-of-the-art international airport is strategically located to connect to over 60 percent of the world within eight hours and boasts a vast 12,000 square-meter international terminal building as well as a duty free section spanning one million square feet.

     

    Mihin Lanka operates flights across the region to sacred places that are of significance to people of different religions. The airline's most popular pilgrimage routes for Buddhist pilgrims; Gaya and Varanasi also operate via Mattala. Hence passengers travelling for pilgrimages to Gaya and Varanasi as well as for business purposes to Madurai, can now embark or disembark at MRIA.
