The Seminar is one in the series of media devcelopment seminars organized for Provincial Journalists by the Government Information Department.  Director General of Government Information Prof.Ariyarathna Athugala, Ratnapura District Secretary Sunil Kannangara, Director Information Wasanthapriya Ramanayake including Ratnapura District Provincial Reporters were present.

The Ratnapura District Development Seminar was held to apprise the journalists about the development activities being carried out by the government in the Ratnapura District while enhancing their communication skills to carry out government's development activities to the public in an effective way.

At the commencement of the conference,  journalist Galahitiye Kularathna presented three books composed by him to Minister John Senevirathna and Prof.Ariyarathna Athugala.
