Northern Province Chief Minister  CV Vigneswaran laid the foundation for the Mahindodaya Technical Faculty with the participation of Provincial Education Ministry Secretary Sathyaseelan, Zonal Education Director Udayakumar, teachers, students and many other guests.

The ceremony of the national programme for establishing 250 Mahindodaya Technical Faculties in schools countrywide was held on 02nd June 2014 at Lumbini College, Colombo under the patronage of  the President Mahinda Rajapaksa.  Mahindodaya Technical  Faculties are established to strengthen  the Technological Subject Stream introduced for the first time in the history at G.C.E. Advanced Level in the school system with the intention of creating a skillful student generation.

Mahindodaya Technical Faculty consists of a Mechanical Engineering Technology Laboratory, Civil  Engineering Technology Laboratory, Power and Electrical Technology Laboratory, Bio System Technological Laboratory,  classrooms,machinery and classroom facilities. (KH/bpk)
