Minister Dullas Alahapperuma says the Colombo declaration to be released at the end of the 16th World Conference on Youth to be held in Sri Lanka will be used as a global base to draw policies on youth affairs in the coming decade. All policies with regard to youths from 2015 to 2030 will be drawn according to the terms of this declaration. Hence the Minister said the conference will be of much importance both locally and internationally.
The Minister was speaking at a press conference held at the Hambantota International Conference Hall today. He said that 168 representatives have arrived in the island so far to participate in the World Youth Conference. .Two Ministers of Youth Affairs from Myanmar and Fiji Islands will arrive in the country at midnight today. Representatives from 169 countries have confirmed their participation in this conference.
