The Minister has stated that disparities and arrears in the salaries of teachers have arisen due to certain measures taken in past years without following a proper methodology.Accordingly, preparing a proposal to solve the issues related to salaries of teachers in a manner that would uphold their professional dignity is a timely need, the Minister emphasized.

Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam made these comments at a discussion held at the Ministry of Education with the trade unions members and the officials of the ministry.
