    September 04, 2018

The first group of students has successfully completed the IT course offered by the Ranaviru Information Technology Training Institute (RITTI) in Clappenburg, Trincomalee. According to Army media, 52 school children from low income families representing all ethnic groups in the region had followed the maiden course offered free of charge by the RITTI.

Children who had successfully completed the 45 hour course were presented with certificates during a ceremony held last month (August). The computer course is meant for children between the ages of 10 -15 years and has been designed to enhance the IT knowledge of school students. It is conducted by experienced Army IT technical staff at the institute.

Sri Lanka Army conducts such community welfare programmes to uplift the educational standards of the children in the North and East. The IT course offered by the RITTI is one such initiative that has become much sought after in the region.
