All arrangemts are set for 77th Independence Day

The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government says that all arrangements are in place to hold the 77th Independence Day celebrations in a dignified manner at the Independence Square premises under the theme 'Let's join the national renaissance".

The Ministry has planned to hold this year's Independence Day celebrations at a low cost, with minimal inconvenience to the public and with greater public participation.

The military parade has been limited to 1,873 military personnel, a reduction of 1,511 compared to last year.

It has also been decided not to use armored vehicles from the three armed forces for this year's parade. Last year, 19 aircraft were used for the Independence Day celebrations, while this year only three aircraft will be used to carry the nation's flag in the air.

The traditional 25-gun salute conducted by the Navy aboard a ship at sea at 12.00 noon on Independence Day will also be held this year.
