Sri Lanka National Sustainable Development Policy 2030 The report “Vision and Strategic Path to Sustainable Sri Lanka 2030” presented by the committee of experts comprised of 41 members will be utilized by the Sustainable Development Board while preparing the National Policy and Strategy on Sustainable Development. The Cabinet of Ministers considered the recommendation of the President to submit programs and project proposals with the sectoral priorities, new initiatives and options outlined in the above report for the 2020 Annual Budget until the completion of this National Policy and Strategy preparations.

E. the president to use “Sustainable Sri Lanka” as the common vision of all the Ministries and “Sustainable …………………………. (Name of the Province) for a Sustainable Sri Lanka” in all the Provincial Councils, to develop public service delivery strategies by each Ministry giving priority to sustainable development strategies, to identify the programs and projects under the strategies identified by each and every government organization and to prepare a National Sustainable Development Policy and Strategy. |

Granting compensation allowance in addition to assessed value of the land acquired, with respect to land owners affected by the Moragahakanda-Kaluganga Development Project The cabinet of Ministers has granted their approval to pay 50% additional compensation with respect to permanent residents of Laggala and Naula Divisional Secretariats affected by the Moragahakanda – Kaluganga Project. The proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment to pay this additional 50% compensation with respect to affected families in Medirigiriya Divisional Secretariat was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers. |

Project for Strengthening Transformation, Reconciliation and Inclusive Democratic Engagement The Project for Strengthening Transformation, Reconciliation and Inclusive Democratic Engagement will be implemented in the North East, North Central and Uva Provinces through indirect management of the World Bank, the United Nations Development Program and the British Council. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Finance to sign a grant agreement with European Union for Euro 40 million to fund this project. |

Minister of Finance to enter into a loan agreement with Asian Development Bank to obtain a USD 150 loan from Asian Development Bank for the second phase of the second Integrated Road Investment Program. |

Minister of Public Enterprises, Upcountry Heritage & Kandy development to construct Nuwarawela Shopping Complex and Sports complex under the supervision of Kandy Municipal Council, using Rs.121 million from the funds of Consolidated fund.

Allocation of lands in New Town Rathnapura for the constructions of Provincial Health Training Centre, Sabaragamuwa The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Megapolis and Western Development to release two lands in Rathnapura New Town, 3 Rood 1.5 Perch in extent and owned by the Urban Development Authority, to the Commissioner General of Lands enabling him to allocate the same to the Provincial Health Department of the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council.

Amendments for the Code of Criminal Procedure Act No 15 of 1979 The amendment bill for the Code of Criminal Procedure Act No 15 of 1979 has been gazette on 14th June 2019. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the bill above mentioned and amendments proposed by the Sectorial Oversight Committee and presented by the Minister of Justice and Prison Reforms. |

Amendments for the Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure Act No 15 of 1979 The Cabinet approval has been granted to draft Constitution of Hostile Speech as an amendment to the penal code and code of criminal procedure. The cabinet of ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of justice and Prison Reforms to gazette the bill prepared by the legal draftsman in line with the recommendations of sectorial oversight committee and present to the parliament consequently. |
