The tournament take place under 11 age groups and under 13 age groups for singles only while under age 15, 17 and 19 groups for both singles and doubles matches from both man and woman events.

Open category matches will be played under the five events: men's and women's singles; men's and women's doubles; and mixed doubles (each pair consists of a man and a woman). Singles and doubles competition will be held for veterans of over the 35, 40, 50 and 55 levels age groups.

 
Sri Lanka Badminton announces that for the 3rd consecutive year, in the 63rd version of the competition, are ready to award prize money to the tune of 1 million Sri Lankan Rupees for those who excel in the week long event.

The award ceremony will culminate in a higher note, on 27th October with the patronage of Hon Mr. Dayasiri Jayasekara Minister of Sports.
