The National Drug Prevention Programme on the theme "A Drug Free Country" was initiated on a concept President Maithripala Sirisena.

Accordingly, a number of awareness programs have been organized covering the district as follows.

Jan. 14- Padukka and Kolonnawa bus stands

Jan. 15- Kaduwela and Homagama bus stands

Jan. 16- Dehiwala and Moratuwa bus stands

Jan. 17- Piliyandala and Rathmalana bus stands

Jan. 18- Pettah buus stand

Jan. 19- Maharagama bus stand (opposite the National Youth Services Council)

The closing ceremony will be held on January 19 at the Maharagama bus stand under the patronage of President Maithreepala Sirisena.
