    Action to nab those selling fertilizer above existing price

    The public has been requested to inform the Fertilize Secretary or Agrarian Services centres, if anyone tries to sell fertiliser at above the existing price structure. The ministry would take legal action against people seeking to take undue advantages, the Minister of Agriculture Duminda Dissanayake said

    He said that action would also be taken against those attempting to sell sub-standard fertiliser.

     

    The minister said subsidies would be given to farmers using organic fertiliser, and stressed on the importance and benefits of using it.


    He said that farmers had been granted a fertiliser subsidy worth Rs. 25, 000 through the last budget.
