The Met Dept. forecasts showers to occur at times in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Hambantota district.
Showers or thunder showers will occur at several places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts after 2.00p.m.it further said.
Misty conditions are also possible in the morning.
The Met Dept. requests the general public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning as there may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
