Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the North Central, Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Hambantota district, the Met Dept. forecasts.
Thunder showers will develop at several places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts after 2.00p.m.
North-east monsoonal winds can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times over the Eastern slopes of the Central hills.
The Met Dept. says there may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers.
