The Ministry of Environment together with the Wildlife Conservation Department has drawn up a plan to educate tourists on biodiversity in the national wildlife parks.
The aim of the programme is to attract more tourists by educating them on biodiversity of the National Wildlife Parks.
Accordingly, a programme to educate tourists about the biodiversity in National Wildlife Parks was held in the Bundala National Wildlife Park with the participation of Officers of the Udawalawa, Lunugamvehera, Bundala and other National Wildlife Parks.
The Government official news portal is maintains by the New Media Unit of the Department of Government Information and it was titled "news.lk" and commenced in mid1996 and release to Internet from March 01st, 1997.
News.lk publishes in three languages – Sinhala, Tamil and English.
