Addressing the weekly cabinet press briefing held at the Government Information Department Auditorium today (22) he said the National Safety Day is commemorated on 26th of December every year from 2006. The Cabinet of Ministers have already granted the approval to hold its commemoration at the Auditorium of the Polonnaruwa District Secretariat. However, as the construction of the said auditorium is not not yet completed as expected, the proposal made by Minister of Disaster Management Anura Priyadarshana Yapa to hold the above commemoration at the Auditorium of the Polonnaruwa Royal College, was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister Senaratne added.
